Discover Life in Zebulon with Joseph
Local Perspective
When buyers are open to the far eastern edge of Wake County, Zebulon is a town I like to put on their radar. It has a classic small-town downtown, a relaxed pace, and a mix of established and newer neighborhoods. If I were walking a client through Zebulon, I'd point out its highway access along the I-87 corridor and local touchpoints like Five County Stadium, home of the Carolina Mudcats minor league baseball team. From my perspective as a broker, Zebulon tends to fit buyers who want more space and small-town character and who are comfortable with a longer drive into Raleigh in exchange.
Neighborhood Highlights
Zebulon's historic downtown offers local businesses, restaurants, and community events that keep its small-town character front and center. Surrounding neighborhoods include older homes on larger lots as well as newer subdivisions with single-family homes and townhomes. Five County Stadium brings minor league baseball to town, and the area's open, rural surroundings give many properties a more spacious setting. Housing options range from established homes near downtown to new construction and properties with acreage on the outskirts of town.
Commute & Connectivity
Zebulon connects to Raleigh by I-87 (US 64), which runs west through Wendell and Knightdale toward I-540 and I-440. US 264 heads east toward Wilson, and NC 96 and NC 97 provide local routes to surrounding communities. Downtown Raleigh is typically a straightforward highway drive, though Zebulon's eastern location means commutes to Raleigh, RTP, or Durham run longer than from more central towns. Buyers who commute daily should test their route at peak times and weigh how close a neighborhood sits to the highway.
